The Golden Age
Jan. 28th, 2025 09:02 amAll that whining about how we live in the most awful time evah in the history of Planet Earth?
Fuhgeddaboudit!
Hulu just put up the first 20 seasons of Law & Order for streaming, so it is clear we live in the Golden Age.
Though Trump did just put the quash on the disbursement of all federal financial assistance funds, which is essentially gonna decimate universities, state disaster assistance, local law enforcement, aid to the elderly—but not Medicare or Social Security—and food banks.
I’m not sure how that one is legal since Congress approved the funding for those federal assistance programs.
###
I did very little useful work yesterday on account of my little tax exegesis took a long time to write, and after the gym, I did errands.
My little tax exegesis is something I primarily wrote for my Substack subscribers, who are multiplying by the day. It’s actually a bit of a thrill: Wait! This stranger whom I do not know actually gets value out of something I wrote?
I’ve been debating whether I should go to the gym every day because I feel so gooood afterward.
Right now, I’m thinking No, because aging body, needs refractory period, blah blah blah, but I may reconsider.
But meanwhile, the Hideous White Stuff is barreling down & the gales are blowing, so I won’t be going to the gym today.
