I liked the Oscars this year. Dresses were fab and I loved how uncomfortable Jennifer Aniston looked on stage, how they cut to a shot of a gloating, vampiric Angelina Joli during her schtick with Jack Black -- so remarkably cheesy! Best Oscar acceptance goes to Kunio Kato for Sank you, domo ari gatto Mr. Roboto.

Do think the Academy needs a new category: Best Artistic Achievement In a Nazi Movie Released At Christmas...

i fell asleep early until the last hour and missed a lot, but saw mr. sank you sank you berrry much; so cute.

unfortunately, also saw winslet accepting her award. felt sure that- given all of that exhaling- she was a devotee of the lamaze school of acting.

i did like many of the gowns- and the color of alicia keys' gown, but sophia loren looked like she was channeling mae west. sophia could have done so much better with so much less.

yes, I agree -- Sophia looked like 150 lbs of beef jerky crammed into that dress. Since I was a Sophia Loren lookalike in my youth, this was a grim reminder of what I will look like when I'm 105 unless (somehow!) I manage to channel my inner Debra Winger.

heh, all is not lost if you're lucky enough to resemble her bone structure- i'm guessing sophia remains a gorgeous old babe under all that cruel makeup. no need to go wingering in fear.

I miss Cher too. Isn't it weird how so many actresses just give up acting after they win an Oscar?

I think she thought, been there, done that and walked away. Helen Hunt did the same thing.
