The Fabulous Gaza Trumpworld Resort

I’m trying to figure out a way to make reservations for my all-inclusive vacation to the fabulous Gaza Trumpworld Resort before the prices go up. Eye on the prize, eye on the prize!
(I hear they’re hiring Malaysians for all the hotel maid and bartender jobs, but they’re giving the hotel security contract to Hamas.)

Meanwhile, yesterday was my first TaxBwana client day of the season. My first client was a frazzled massage therapist employed by the Mohonk Mountain Resort.
Upon hearing my wistful, I’ve always wanted to stay at the Mohonk Resort, but I could never afford it, she immediately offered to share her Friends & Family discount, but alas! we TaxBwanas must take a strict vow not to profit personally in any way from our tax exertions (baked goods excepted), and anyway, when I sent her home after an hour and a half, telling her she should make another appointment, she was far less positively disposed toward me.
“Can’t you just finish them today?” she pleaded.
“Well, I could,” I said, “but you didn’t bring in the paperwork for the Roth IRA you’re converting this traditional IRA to, so the IRS thinks it’s a premature distribution and is taxing you accordingly. Also, I can’t give you a dependent care credit without provider contact info & EIN number, and you emptied out this 1099-Q into another educational account—but you didn’t bring in the paperwork for the new account. All of which means that if I file your taxes today, you will be paying a lot of unnecessary tax. Of course, it is entirely up to you—”
My second clients were a sweet Hispanic couple from Rosendale. I longed to ask them who they voted for in the recent election, but of course, that is verboten, too.

It snowed last night. Not a lot, but enough so that the Y isn’t opening till 1 pm, which gives me an excuse to blow off working out. Pushed lunch with Loraine to the weekend, which gives me more time to devote to my life’s Great Work—watching all 512 episodes of Law & Order.
The fabulous Ichabod sent me a fabulous Santa Cruz Public Defenders teeshirt, and the fabulous A sent me a fabulous novel to “while away the dreary winter hours,” so I am feeling ❤️LUV❤️-ed.
