The Rebirth Brass Band

I had such a fabulous time last night!!!
No, it was not a date (though I’m still picking up vibes Ellen might swing that way in a universe far, far away, one where Catholic girls high schools teach classes on finding the G spot.)
Ellen is one of those rare people who connects with everyone because she’s irreverent, funny, bold, and just flings it out there to see what sticks.
The polar opposite of “hipster.”
A real “find” as my beloved Marybeth used to say. A breath of fresh air!!!

The musicians were called the Rebirth Brass Band, & they turned out to be a moderately famous New Orleans marching band. What they were doing in a backwater like Montgomery, New York, I have no idea though the venue itself was wayyy cool—an old knitting factory that’s been reconfigured as a restaurant & a performance stage and redubbed City Winery.
They are a marching band, so the acoustics didn’t quite translate to static performance.
But the beat was strong.
We danced for an hour and a half.
Mandatory selfie:

I have no plans for the Labor Day weekend. It is rainy & grey today, so I think I will binge Industry—which is kind of a combination of the Brit version of Skins (❤️❤️❤️) and Succession. It’s a terrific show.
Tomorrow if the weather is better, I’ll go exploring in Saugerties & Catskill.
And if it isn’t, I’ll go the Alien Museum!!! There’s one in Pine Bush.
Why?
I have no idea.
This area is not known for its UFO sightings.
