Jun. 24th, 2024 06:46 amIggy called to say he’d installed the A/C unit.
Moments after BB texted to say he’d come by to install the A/C unit.
I am certain this is cause & effect.

Meanwhile, though yesterday was not the hottest day of the heatwave so far, it was by far the most humid.
I had exhausted myself by rounding up the small pantry of food items I stash for emergencies and donating them to a local veterans’ foodbank (all the way in fuckin’ Arlington.) I am not gonna transport 15 cans of refried beans across the Great Water! Or even the two cans of haggis I bought in Edinburgh two summers ago.
I also scurried about offloading a bunch of books to various Little Free Libraries located throughout the Greater Poughkeepsie Metropolitan Area.
A round of thunderstorms and reports of a tornado in the afternoon gave me an excuse not to Move Stuff.
Good!!!!! thought I and went straight to bed and ate cake with gooey frosting and watched Bad Television.
###
Temps are actually supposed to stay coolish today—in the lowish 70°s—and since there’s A/C at the new place now, I don’t have to scuttle off at the crack of dawn to organize the new space before the room heats up to suffocated-toddler-in-a-car level temps.
I am thinking I will actually put in a couple of hours in the garden before I go across the bridge.
###
During my drives around Poughkeepsie yesterday, I saw this sign:

Which made me laugh.
Because Trump supporters are a lot more thin-skinned than their ideological opponents in my experience.
I really am moving to the hipper side of the river.
New Paltz seems to be a town completely composed of coffee houses:
