Active Worrying

Not much to report.
Spent yesterday trip-prepping but not worrying—specifically, not doing the kind of active worrying about everything that could possibly go wrong on this trip that functions as a kind of active visualization to ensure nothing will go wrong on the trip.
See, if you suffer beforehand, I mean really suffer—feel that oxygen deprivation as the cabin pressure plummets, experience that despair as the airline loses your luggage (so that all you have to wear for the next week is the clothes on your back, a pair of panties with ripped elastic, and that ill-advised pair of leopard-spotted leggings you crammed into your carry-on backpack), live out the mortification you’ll feel when you inadvertently insult your hosts and they stop talking to you two hours after you arrive—if you can honestly bring yourself to feel that pain, then none of those things will happen!
But if you don’t suffer beforehand, then all those things will happen.
Though not necessarily consecutively.
So I better start worrying.
