In today’s Exciting Fuckups From the Ebola Front, we learn that Ebola Nurse 2 actually called the CDC from Cleveland to report that she was running a fever and was told that it was perfectly okay to fly on a commercial flight.
At this point, I think Thomas Frieden should commit seppuku on Fox TV.
Or, barring that, allow himself to be injected with the Ebola virus and cared for according to CDC protocols, which would amount to the same thing.
Friday, I’m doing an all-day brainstorming session with Seraphina on her arts and commerce festival during which I will attempt to persuade her once again to run for government office. Then I’m going up to the Finger Lakes for massive RTT b-day celebration-age. After that, I’ll be carting Ben back down with me to the Hudson Valley for a couple of days. He’s had a tough time of things lately, and I feel like he deserves a little bit of spoiling so I’ve arranged an FDR Day with a Springwood tour and a tromp around the estate. B likes FDR! May take him up to Kingston, too, since the old historic part of that little city is pretty cool. Spoiling B does not include another drive back to T-burg, however, so I’m gonna put him on a bus for the return trip.
Anyhoo, today will be a day of quiet, contemplative puttering, drinking industrial strength coffee, and eating hearty roasted root vegetables. It's raining on and off. I’m trying to finish up various projects – including this week’s LJ Idol entry, which is all about selkies on welfare living in a houseboat in the Monterey harbor.
Life is basically pert-y good. I mean, I could complain -- I can always complain. But I won't.
