Museum of Natural History guy turns out to be an Iranian Jew. To prep myself for our first meeting I naturally had to download and watch every extant episode of The Shahs of Sunset.
Truly The Shahs of Sunset is the standard by which every other reality television show must be judged and found wanting. I can't even describe how ghastly and yet compulsively watchable it is – and where do these people get all their money??? I know what Keller Williams is. They sell pre-fab houses! They are not an upscale real estate operation!!! How on earth does Reza make $10,000 commission on every house he sells? I mean, even in Orange County!
Add to that dilemma the fact that Ryan Seacrest executive produces the show. Ryan Seacrest himself is kind of a reality TV Frankenstein creation!
No, truly the world has become a Thomas Pynchon novel. On one side is The Shahs of Sunset. On the other is revolution and war and plague and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. I'm kind of straddling the middle.
