Entirely Frivilous Political Analysis
Nov. 3rd, 2010 07:23 amAs expected, Republicans won the House but lost the Senate.
Although the Republican Party does not reflect my political ideas, I’m almost happy – that’s how much I loathe the strident, charmless Nancy Pelosi. It’s hard to say which was the biggest disaster for the Dems following 2010, Obama’s arrogance coupled with his fatal lack of experience or Pelosi’s bullying.
Glad Jerry Brown won in California – I would have voted for him. I like the symmetry that he is now and forever both California’s oldest and youngest governor. Not sure what I would have done about Barbara Boxer—I’ve always thought she was a moron, but at least she hasn’t had a lot of work done on her face (unlike Pelosi) and of course, Carly Fiorina – responsible for costing over 30,000 workers their jobs – is the spawn of the devil.
It amazes me that Prop 19 lost. I mean, is there a single person left living in California who has not gotten high at one time or another – and enjoyed it? Plus it’s the obvious way out of their fiscal woes. Never underestimate the hypocrisy of the electorate. Most amazing analytic tidbit was that voters with a high school education or less went against it by a margin of about 70% to 30% -- in my experience, at least, they’re the biggest pot smokers.
I’m sorry Russ Feingold lost his Senate seat – he was a good guy.
I like Ron Paul and if it weren’t for his anti-abortion stance, I might even have voted for him in the last Presidential election. But I’m not at all sure how I feel about his son.
