Also this week I must begin cobbling together writing samples for my annual exercise in humiliation, i.e. the Stegner Fellowship application.
I don't know why I do this every year. I just do it.
I took a look at some work from previous Fellows. Probably not representative – only the stuff I can find online.
I don't write like them.
It's all very discouraging.
