Her airbag didn't deploy. It wasn't a front end collision. Are airbags only supposed to deploy in front end collisions?

At first I thought she was driving back from La Liendre.

But, no -- it was Albuquerque. Busier highway, less time bleeding on the side of the road.

"Oh, you know how Jeanna and Carlos get into it," said Maria Elena. "They were bickering, she was in a pissy mood. She said she saw something on the highway, swerved to avoid it. Lost control of the car."

And now she's comatose at the University of New Mexico teaching hospital's ICU. The longer you stay in a coma, the greater the chance when you come out of it that you resume Terri Schievo's life and misplace your own. Of course, she has no health insurance. I fly to Albuquerque tomorrow.
