Hmmmm…

Biggest evidence yet that America’s technocrats are Trumpies all the way: Jeff Bezos killed The Washington Post’s endorsement of Kamala Harris.

Not that anyone votes for a Presidential candidate because a media outlet tells them they should.

I mean, maybe they vote for candidates lower down on the ticket that some media outlet endorses because they were too lazy to do their own due diligence.

But I don’t think that’s how Presidential votes work.

Still.

It’s a significator.

I remain confident that Harris is gonna win—though I’m willing to concede that may just be my contrarian streak. The pundits are telling us the momentum has shifted Trumpwards. How do they know that? Polls? But think for a moment who actually responds to polls. People who answer their telephones when they don’t recognize the number that’s calling them! You really think those people are the source of the Nile?

Anyway, the Crazy Times are beginning.

And no matter who wins, the Crazy Times are gonna go on for months.

Meanwhile, yesterday was unremarkable.

I Remunerated.

I tromped.

I read Griffin Dunne’s autobiography, which is quite amusing although I haven’t yet gotten up to the part where his sister gets strangled by a jealous boyfriend. I imagine at that point, the autobiography will become less amusing.

John L_______ has very kindly offered us his beautiful house for Destination Thanksgiving since he will be visiting Nathan (and the new grand-bébé) in Connecticut.

John L_______’s beautiful house is actually in Monterey not Santa Cruz—two blocks away from the house I lost along with everything else back in 2009.

I swore I would never set foot in Monterey again, so naturally I am ambivalent about John Laughton’s house offer—even though it will save us the Big Buck$ in Airbnb fees.

But I suppose life is all about resigning oneself to doing things one swore one would never do again.

In some respects i do think life is all about resigning oneself to doing things one swore one would never do [again]. That's how I felt about shopping in Stop & Shop after then wrongly accused the tall one (oldest son), at the time an employee, of theft. But the store is literally a half-mile from the house, my gesture meant nothing to anyone (incl. the tall one) other than myself, and ... I shop there now.

There are other things I think I will NEVER do, but time will tell.

They had better *at least* mean something to oneself! But then when they lose or shift meaning, we can let them go.
