You couldn’t actually see the aurora flares from the current solar coronal mass ejections. (Or maybe you could, and I couldn’t.) What you could see depended on the amount of light pollution, and I live in a suburbanized part of the Hudson Valley.

You could photograph them, though.

Above was taken arounnd midnight last night with a one-second delay. I think if you used a three-second delay, you’d get even more spectacular results, and I think I’ll try that tonight since the solar storm is predicted to last through the weekend.

Fabulous reminder that the Universe is vast, and humans are not.

And the party went well. Loraine & Buff Ken brought white wine and Neighbor Ed brought champagne, and I had two glasses of each, which took the edge off.

L seemed to revel in the attention, so Mission Accomplished, I suppose.

I got Loraine & Buff Ken to tell me their falling-in-❤️LUV❤️ story: “She was my boss—” grinned Buff Ken.

Loraine grimaced. “Stop. I was his project manager.”

I might go as far as to say I actually had fun.

Also, my money arrived. California adventure bill two-thirds paid off. So, that’s heartening.

And I slept eight hours.

The world is good! 😀

Hooray for good times. :D

Friends in France were posting about seeing the flares, but with all the clouds and pollution here in Beirut, I am not holding my breath. Off to bed I go!

Couldn't see a thing last night but the glare from street lights. Hopefully this PM since we're back home it will be a nice light show.

That's a really nice photo! I looked out my bedroom window before midnight because I couldn't sleep, but I still didn't see anything else. Other people locally got some nice shots from their phones.

Oh, my word! Aurora! Fabulous shot. I was so tired last night that I even forgot to look, so thank you for posting this.

I'm so glad all went well with the party, and that all your hard work paid off.
