PS: I Opted For the Bag Lady Look
Dec. 19th, 2023 10:40 am
Shortly, I will be toddling off to the Big City for an exciting day of miniature holiday train watching at the Bronx Botanical Gardens followed later tonight by Neil Gaiman pretending to be Charles Dickens.
And sleeping in a hotel!
My big dilemma—since I don’t actually want to be lugging a suitcase or even a knapsack around all day: Do I wear a dress (because you know, theater, dress-up!) and risk freezing to death in the chill of the Times Square ForeverNight? Or do I dress the way I normally do (which is to say like a bag lady), stay warm, but risk Neil Gaiman not recognizing me, failing to single me out with an expressive tremble in his voice, You! Winsome creature in Row U, Seat 123!!! You’re the one!!! Where have you been all my life?

Naught much else to report.
It rained hard all day yesterday.
Massive flooding throughout the quaint & scenic Hudson Valley! I believe bridges closed.
The storm broke an hour or so before dark (which comes at 4:30 these days; please shoot me now.) So there was time for a brief tromp and a view of the apocalyptic sunset.

Date: 2023-12-20 10:12 pm (UTC)My erstwhile brother-in-law (brother-out-law? 😀) also invited me to Pennsylvania, but that's like 14 hours round trip, so even though I'm quite fond of him, I'm working on an affectionate (and tactful1) invitation refusal.
