Rain & Putin

mallorys_cameraLow-pressure front stalled in the upper reaches of the stratosphere has ended drought fears for now.
It’s rained for the past three days. Pop-up thunderstorms are expected for the rest of the week.
It’s not terribly hot, but it is terribly, terribly humid. The mosquitoes are voracious: Nature intended the lands along the Hudson River to be one big marsh, and when it rains a lot, the marsh struggles to come back. Lawns turn into swamps; mosquitoes breed like crazy.
Best time for avoiding humidity and mosquitoes is earlyish in the morning—which creates a kind of dilemma for me: I think most clearly earlyish in the morning, so that’s when I like to work. Tromping throws off that rhythm, and, you know—the older you get, the harder it is to live outside the rhythms.
My workaround is to binge.
Like today, I’ll binge on Remuneration, and tomorrow I’ll binge on wholesome exercise and gardening.

Nobody in the West knows what was behind that Russian putsch attempt.
And, of course, mainstream media is utterly useless when it comes to finding out.
My own hunch—based on absolutely nothing—is that the faux putsch was a kind of theater performance, pantomime on a grand scale: Putin and Prigozhin in cahoots to demonstrate Putin’s might.
I mean, honestly, it’s the only explanation that connects all the dots.
But who fucking knows?
Anyway, audience ratings were low for this particular news story.
Americans seem not to have given a shit.
Confidential to Vladimir Putin: If you really want to capture the world’s attention, get an Ozempic script and book a seat on a sight-seeing Titanic submersible.

I've seen the theory that Putin wanted more forces in Belarus, but in a way that wouldn't immediately trigger international condemnation... again. Now, Prigozhin-with-forces are moving to Belarus on the northern front of Ukraine. It's a convenient tale, but I have no idea how to rate it. None of this foolish war makes any sense at all.
