The Coming Storm

mallorys_cameraThe coming storm is projected to drop two and a half feet of snow on the quaint and scenic Hudson Valley.
So, you know.
UGH.
Just UGH.
I get that snow is the reason that—unlike our California cousins—we can flush our toilets with abandon, so maybe I’ll spend the day in the bathroom flushing the toilet again and again and again! Just to remind myself.

Snow is not supposed to start till tonight, so theoretically at least, I could go tromping today. But I’m not gonna. Temps are not supposed to rise much above 20°. They didn’t rise much above freezing yesterday, which felt positively tropical compared with today, and I didn’t enjoy tromping then.
At some point, I have to go outside to take photos of Anton’s car. Shippers didn’t show up while he was still here. The appointment was rebooked for Thursday, and I was designated the point person—well, you know: I like Anton— but, of course, shippers are not gonna show up Thursday either because the entire Hudson Valley will be experiencing massive snow paralysis.
“You really need to document the condition of the car before it gets on that truck,” I told Anton.
He hadn’t thought of that.
I preened!
Oh, the practicality of me!!!!

I feel like I’m in a Twilight Zone episode. One of those ones where Earthlings are waiting for the meteorite to hit.
I’ve got plenty of food for me and the cat plus books, old-fashioned books with pages and bindings and stuff, so I should be fine when the electricity goes off.
What a drag, though.
L will have the vast circular driveway plowed, but I will probably be the one digging out all the cars.
I don’t care if they’re only First World problems.
Fuck this!
