Extinction
Sep. 7th, 2003 08:35 amTail end of a very vivid dream –
I’m a young teenage girl with a Bad Boy lover. Much angst has ensued, Bad Boy is holed up in some kind of boarding house in the midwest. I’m knocking on the door to his room. When he answers, he looks me up and down. Says, "I liked you then but I don’t know if I like you now," which fills the dream character with angst and sadness but which the uber-narrator recognizes as a defensive ploy. Happen to look out the window – it’s night, there’s a broad dark river under moonlight with ice floes, and riding the rapids around the floes are a flock of white swans, hundreds of them. They’re beautiful, and I think to myself in the dream persona: this is what happens to dinosaurs.
