Bride of Frankenstein C'est Moi
Dec. 14th, 2007 09:55 amI have a job interview today so naturally I woke up with my left eye throbbing.
Inspection via bathroom mirror revealed a red mark lower down on my cheek. Spider bite? Cellulitis? That last is a Medical Emergency because it can spread to yr meninges. Ugh. I will worry about that after I finish obsessing whether I should start the interview with a perky, "Hi! I don't normally look like the Bride of Frankenstein!" or just ignore it.
In other news, I got an email from my erstwhile employer JDK about Congress' lassitude in passing the H2b Returning Worker Exemption. This should sadden anyone who either likes to play golf or attend state fairs since both industries are dependent on legal alien labor and in the wake of the various bouts of illegal alien hysteria, legal non-immigrant visas available for those seasonal employers who were following the law were slashed from about 180,000 to 66,000 this year.
Here is the little website I threw together in (literally) 5 minutes describing how you can help should you want to.
Other than that, it remains freakishly cold and Cannery Row remains moribund. Such sad things have been happening to people I care about all week long though that I don't have the heart to whine about my own misfortunes.
