Rare Animal Sightings
Aug. 27th, 2010 08:05 amMilo and I saw a beaver in Fall Creek yesterday. A beaver! I thought they were extinct, at least in these parts. But, no, I saw the tail – exactly like a large fin.
Also yesterday while I was driving into town I saw a pelican flying overhead. We are – what? – 250 miles away from the ocean, and I couldn’t imagine how the poor pelican had ended up here. Some unfortunate confluence of wind currents, I suppose. I wonder if it will survive if it can’t find its way back to the sea.
I have been feeling very good for the past couple of days as though lancing the pustule that was loathsome Auntie Jane drained some poison from my heart. I’m making plans. I’m mildly productive.
