Pajama Days

It rained.

And rained, and rained, and rained, and rained.

It’s still raining.

And this is good because God knows we need the rain.

I was too cowardly to pull off a pajama day yesterday.

But I just might pull it off today.

Soggy ride home yesterday, soggy ride to work today. I have a fan going in my office to maybe try and dry things out a bit before the end of the day, when it will probably still be raining and everything will get wet again on the ride home.

I just see it as a commitment to stay inside for the day, have a mentally interior day. A personal retreat from outside activities. I used to have a lot of them when I was taking care of my mom. It was a relief to not have to interact with the outside world.

I am all about Pajama Days. When I lived in a house with shutters, I would sometimes declare an Ugly Day and not open the shutters in order to pretend to the world that I was not home. :P

I can't do a pjs day here. Actually, my puritanical mother instilled something in me wherein I don't:

nap
wear pjs
wear leggings out
turn the tv on before 6 pm

BUT, I'm saying that to empathize. IF I COULD, I think I would do it!

I had a completely neglectful mother who didn't care about anything I did, and I still have a hard time doing Pajama Days.

And I think watching TV in the daytime is a symptom of weak moral persuasion. 😀

If Albany yesterday was anything like it was here (around 70 miles south), I don't envy your bike rides.

The rain was relentless.

Ehh, the rain was wet, but it's still warm out so as long as one is okay with getting wet, it's not really a big deal. It helps having ways to dry off and change clothes at either end of the commute.
