Frustrated Tears
Aug. 31st, 2022 08:17 amSybyl was such an amazing little trooper with the vet visit and the application of the LibreLink continuous glucose monitor—the same one that human diabetics use; I picked it because it is the least invasive technology—and the donning of a ridiculous net “sweater”, designed to keep the device intact.
Did a glucose reading last night. LibreLink didn’t even bother to give me a numerical reading. High was all it said.
I gave her 2 units of insulin sub-q.
She didn’t even feel it.
But this morning, the damn LibreLink isn’t working anymore. I have no idea why; it was completely intact.
So, I’m gonna have to replace it. Which may mean another trip to the vet because they didn’t actually show me how to place it, and the damn things aren’t cheap, so I don’t want to put it on incorrectly.
I am sitting here crying.
Tears of frustration!
Tears of frustration never solve anything, so I wish I’d stop.

What else?
The current Remunerative Project is a total slog but über remunerative, so I continue to slog on, feeling exactly like the peasant girl in Rumpelstiltskin, wondering how I’m going to spin this room full of straw into gold.
The luggage people emailed me complicated instructions for replacing the telescoping handle on my suitcase. Apparently, they don’t have any YouTube videos. They are going to send me a new telescoping handle. I have no mechanical aptitude whatsoever and am very much doubting my ability to make the necessary repair.
More tears of frustration!
(Although I did manage to put my exercise bicycle together and turn off the oil change light and change the battery in my car fob, which probably means I have more mechanical aptitude than I think I have if only I can remember to keep calm and breathe deeply.)
On yesterday’s tromp, the western shore of the Hudson had many orange trees:

I couldn’t tell whether the trees have begun turning (somewhat prematurely) or whether these are actually trees that have died because of the drought.
It did rain last night. Not supposed to get much above 80° today.
So, that’s something.
