I've never seen anything like this before—-although, of course, I am not a native.

I literally had to chisel my car out of a glacier yesterday. Took two hours. I would have left it there till temperatures finally go back up, save for the encouragement & assistance of my pioneer-girl chum Ellen who rolled her eyes at me: You cannot be without a car for 10 days. You are a strong woman. You can do this.

The back 40 is a solid plate of gleaming white ice.
