Date: 2025-02-14 04:01 pm (UTC)When it comes to departed family, I like to think that the people I never knew in previous centuries could greet me with their fond approval: Norwegian farmers, Eastern European villagers, Roman matriarchs, patient housewives of every age who raised their children, who raised the generation after that, and so on down to me, where I am somehow holding things together (for now) in the living world. And of course, all of my pets will be there too, and flocks and herds of many long-forgotten creatures.
