Stephen Hawking, Cold Weather, Tulips

Stephen Hawking is dead.

Since math is a struggle for me, the best way I can describe Hawking’s contributions is that he proved the ancients were right: The Universe really is a uroboros, a snake eating its own tail. A Big Bang is a Black Hole in reverse. Thus will the Universe end as it began. Or will it end? Is its ending only a new beginning?

Since that’s the essential takeaway, I’m not sure it even benefits to follow the math. Anyone who knows anything has always known that it’s all full circle.

###

In other news, the quaint and scenic Hudson Valley dodged the bullet yesterday. The blizzard that took out New England stayed 50 miles to our east.

So no shoveling, but damn, it’s cold. Bone-chillingly cold. The 30s is often doable in terms of exercising outside, but not yesterday.

Max sent me tulips. As a thank you for editing his public policy essays.

comments
